Our trial of introducing items from our archive

As discussed we have started our trial run of having parts of the archive at Barham Village Hall on the second and fourth Friday mornings from 10.00am until about 12. So far we have had a good response from members and others who have not only had a good look at those elements of the archive but also helped John with some jobs including identifying places and people on photographs and helping with scanning, inputting and categorising items. This assistance is much appreciated.

Do come along and find out more. You will even get a coffee made by David’s own fair hand!

The future dates are here for your diary and will be updated each month.

We also talked about the committee meetings and I promised to let you know when and where they would be. They are either at the Village Hall committee room or in the back room of The Duke of Cumberland. The latter has the benefit of not costing the society money. You are very welcome to come along, see what we get up to and raise anything you would like to.

Do come along, have a coffee, and find out what we have been doing.

If you have any photos or documents which you would be happy either to donate or allow us to take a copy to help us add to our archive please bring them along or contact our archivist (John Reynolds: 830384 / Any photos which show the area or local activities are of interest, including recent items as, after all, today is tomorrows history. As well as using these for society events and work we have used them in other activities such as giving talks to the children at the local primary school and supporting exhibitions. As always your help with this would be gratefully appreciated.
